Life in Kansas City

So I moved to Kansas City, MO January 10th of this year. It was BIG deal leaving home and so hard, but I knew I was suppose to do it :) I can't even begin to say how much my life has been changed in the short month that I have already been here! The Lord is amazing and keeps reveling himself to me in new ways every night. I'm doing FIRE IN THE NIGHT at the International House Of Prayer. Its an internship program that is for nightwatch. I normally wake up at 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon and don't go to bed till 6 a.m. the following morning. Its a CRAZY schedule and really testing but its sooooo good all at the same time. I can honestly say there is nothing like dwelling on the Lords face all night long. It has been awesome! :) It has snowed like mad crazy since I've been here, and has been disgusting!!! I hate the weather! I can't wait to go home this spring and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin! :) I'm loving it here yet really miss home at the same time..... my internship is over the first of April and I fly home to Charlotte on the 4th!!! So excited to see my family and friends!
Anyway..... even though I suck at updating this thing I thought I would write a little something on my day off! Hope everyone is having an awesome weeked! :) Go Packers!

Get out the Garlands!

Well, Friday was my last official day of school! So its time to get school and studying out of my mind, and start playing "White Christmas" in my head! I'm so excited about this Holiday season! It really is my favorite time of year!! Christmas baking, Decorating the tree, BlackFriday shopping, 25 Days of Christmas on ABC family, IceSkating downtown, Christmas music playing anywhere you go, mistletoe, eggnog, Decking the Halls, Christmas lights, Santa at Wal*Mart ringing the bell for the poor, Christmas movie nights....... and the list goes on and on!! I have already started my shopping, I've only gotten a few things, but it makes me want to buy more!

As I'm writing this blog, I'm watching The Holiday. Truly one of the greatest Christmas (Romantic/Comedies) of all time, in my opinion. And the soundtrack will make you want to cry! For real. Normally the day after thanksgiving we watch a christmas movie every night (leading up till christmas) with all the lights off BUT the tree of course........ and the crackling of the fireplace is a must during the christmas lit nights of December.

Don't get me started on the christmas music. IT'S FREAKING AMAZING!!! I listen to Christmas music all year long, but once we hit October.......... it's over baby, it's on twenty-four seven! One of my favorite christmas cds that will never get old is A Jolly Christmas By Frank Sinatra.
Well I hope everyone is having a great Sunday afternoon! Thought I
would share some of my holiday excitement with my blog!
Happy Holidays!

life.

Today I'm sitting in school tired out of my mind! I just want to go home and get under my down comforter and sleeeeeeeeep! :)
After school today I'm planning on going over to my wonderful Aunt Darla's house and helping her make a perfect Chocolate cake for when Thomas and Sonya get here. It should be fun -- The sun is FINALLY out in Charlotte! Thank you Jesus. It has been so rainy/snowy for I don't know how long now. This whole week has been beautiful and should be throughout the weekend.

School has been good, I have been busy every night with home work. And as much as its a challenge, I love it! It feels so good. Plus because I'm only taking Tuesday Thursday classes it works out great!

This blog is completely pointless but I felt like writing one :) Hope everyone is having an awesome Week!

Snowy Charlotte.

It snowed 6 inches here in Charlotte!! It started yesterday afternoon and we woke up to the ground covered! So beautiful! Hannah & Tiffy slept over so we all woke up, had pancakes then headed straight out side for the next 3 hours. Eating the snow, taking pictures, videotaping and sledding, it was all to much fun. It looks like we're stuck cause the roads are sheeted with ice. So we're just going to have to get cozy at home! Sweats, movies, hot coco......... yes.

My Present Lover :)

I bought a car! :) I'm SOO excited!!! You have no idea! I purchased it from some of my really good friends Rawan & Justin. They moved to Germany on the 25th of this month and had a car to sell and they gave it to me for an AMAZING deal! I was able to buy it in cash, which is such a blessing. Its a 2001 4S white Mistubishi Galant, 4door, leather interior,  sunroof, in great condition, and perfect for a first car. I absolutely love it! :) It needs a few things done to it, which I don't mind at all because I bought it at such a good price! I would be willing to put two more thousand into it if I had to!

            It needs:
  • 4 New tires
  • Tune up
  • Front bumper paint job
Probably all together I will be looking at around $800 to get it where I want it to be. I am very happy about that! :)

I am so looking forward to taking it out for a drive with the sunroof open, blaring music, picking up a starbucks, and just driving! Life gets more and more exciting with the opportunities life has to offer. I couldn't be more excited!! Here is a photo! :)

Thoughts. School. Independence.

I'm sitting in the I.T. computer lab here at my college. Just finished up all my classes for the day. I'm loving school. I have such good luck with getting good teachers. Each and every one of them are awesome! I couldn't have asked for better. That's always the first fear that comes to mind when going back to school for the next semester, "Will I like my teachers? Are they going to inspire me? Will I look forward to seeing them every week?". All of those questions I would answer with a "Yes!". I am so excited to be spending the winter/spring semester with all of them!

I'm enjoying the beauty of independence in a whole new way. Walking around campus with my book bag and no familiar face in sight brings such a sense of excitement and adventure. I love doing things on my own. During my break today I went to a Trader Joes a few blocks down from my school. While I was there I got some Cliff Bars and some other snacks to have handy for the rest of the week. And you know what, I left there with a big smile on my face! haha - It sounds so silly, I know. But I'm loving every minute of it! The feeling of independence is invigorating!

The Starting of a New Year.

Well, I am very excited to start writing on my first blogspot :) Yet I don't know how well I will keep it updated, but I shall try my best!

Well, for those of you who don't know me, I am number two out of five kids. 18. Blond. Love to create things. A photographer (hence my blog name:). Passionate about music, and anything that deals with it. I love people, and surrounding myself with them. Reading is a love of mine. I enjoy deep conversations. I'm very outdoorsy, and I love to find my self lost in the middle of nature. I strive everyday to be who the Lord created me to be, and as much as 2009 may have been a year of failures, I have hope for these beautiful months ahead!

My heart is filled with joy at the start of this new year. I'm eager to see what this upcoming 2010 holds.
I don't have much planned, except going to school full time at the local community collage (cpcc). I have already started booking weddings for this summer, which I am looking forward to each and everyone of them. My little sister, Olivia Kate, who entered the world late last year, whom I have so enjoyed watching grow and smile, I'm also excited to see her little personality be defined. She's so precious and dear to my heart. My good friend (Colton) from Thailand is moving in with me mid April to attend the FIRE School. It will be awesome yet an interesting transition for the Volk household. I'm hoping to purchase a car by the end of this year.....We'll see if that happens. I guess the rest is an exciting mystery,
waiting to unfold :)

That completes my first post :) Hope it wasn't boring and pointless.
I'll try and keep this thing updated as much as I can! Have an awesome weekend!
